Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Reading of drawings/blueprints, production documentation, complete documentation, maintain high quality workmanship and organizational habits

+ Preparation and inspection of components for assembly; cleaning, part verification and fit-checks, grit blasting

+ Cutting, stripping, cleaning, inspection and handling of fiber optic cables in preparation for termination

+ Terminations of Fiber Optic contacts involving various tools, epoxy procedures, crimping, handling and inspection

+ Polishing techniques and methods for Fiber Optic contacts, polishing papers, sequence, handling, inspection

+ Knowledge and completion of optical testing including proper use of test jumpers, insertion loss and return loss equipment and documenting measurements

+ Oral/Written Communication – Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Records data

Education and Experience:

+ High School diploma, or equivalent

+ Ability to apply common sense in performing job

+ Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

+ Ability to use basic high school math skills

+ 2-3 years complex cable assembly experience

Physical Demands:

+ Good coordination and flexibility in both hands

+ Move and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. or more

+ Good vision including passing color blindness test

Work Environment:

+ Factory environment

Personal Protective Equipment:

+ Use of safety glasses

+ Use of steel protective shoes or protective shoe covers

Training Requirements:

+ ERP and Time clock system Overview

+ Teledyne Ethics and Harassment training

+ Hazardous Communications

+ Quality Systems

Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
