    About the Role:

    Lead and manage the Commercial Real Estate Division throughout the Umpqua Bank footprint. Responsibilities include establishing lending strategies, coordinating procedures and implementing goals to generate new loan production, while maintaining an acceptable level of portfolio risk. Prepare annual budget in conjunction with Senior Executives and monitor and influence operations and financial performance to achieve business unit objectives. Lead coordinated efforts to expand to new markets. Provide support to all Market Managers with direct production responsibilities. Analyze business, industry, financial data and other supporting credit information concerning an applicant’s credit request; identifies key business and financial risks that may impact the repayment prospects by the borrower; derives conclusions supporting the credit recommendation based on documented facts and/or sound judgement.

     

    + Oversee all lending teams and regions through pipeline review, client and prospect calls, as well as loan review and feedback.

    + Responsible for bottom line performance including exception pricing, expense control, loan structure guidance and successful marketing campaigns.

    + Responsible for providing leadership and motivation that supports the successful expansion of the business unit and ensures adherence to procedures and processes.

    + Direct the overall operations of the loan production platform by providing the processing and administration of commercial real estate loans.

    + Design and maintain lending programs to be competitive while maintaining required returns on equity.

    + Plan and coordinate the annual budget and goal setting process to drive and achieve financial results.

    + Coordinate the allocation of resources through appropriate staffing levels.

    + Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

    + Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

    + Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

    + May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

    + Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

    + Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

    About You:

    + Bachelor's Degree in degree in business, finance or related field or the equivalent in education and experience.(Required)

    + Master’s degree in business, finance or a related field preferred(Preferred)

    + 5-10yearsof management experience including local or regional production offices in commercial real estate or commercialBanking(Required).

    + Proven track record in successful,growth orientedleadership roles supported by loan production numbers.

    + Advanced knowledge of all types of commercial real estate.

    + Extensive understanding of the legal aspects of commercial real estate and commercial real estate lending.

    + Extensive experience with banking regulations, policies, and methods of operation.

    + Ability to create a strong rapport with Executive Management and Credit Quality by utilizing effective collaboration skills.

    + Knowledge of local and regional markets and a large network of real estate industry professionals.

    + Advanced interpersonal, leadership, and management skills required. Proven ability to attract, motivate, and retain a high-performing sales team.

    + Possess both strong credit and marketing skills which will be critical to creating a high level of credibility throughout the organization.

    + Possesses strong computer skills including use of the Microsoft Office suite with the ability to learn new business software, as needed.

    We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $209,109.86- $350,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
