    Job Description

    Purpose:

    The Program Manager assists in the development and implementation of assigned programs. This position manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for administering College of Engineering events. This position oversees the management of a team of event specialists, executes all events at the direction of the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Dean and Workforce Development, and assists the Associate Director of Conferences and Events in the implementation and maintenance of the events management system including policies, procedures, and recommendations for the system and event standards for Texas A&M Engineering and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES).

    Responsibilities:

    + Lead the coordination efforts of events for the Vice Chancellor and Dean of Engineering, TEES centers, and college departments.

    + Assist in scheduling and securing venue and logistical support for events.

    + Manage all events operating within the events management system. Serves as lead coordinator for high-profile and VIP events.

    + Assist in calculating budgets for events and ensure the events team adheres to the budgets.

    + Oversee the Zachry Engineering Education Complex and the Center for Infrastructure Renewal event and meeting spaces, including maintaining the reservation system, policies, and procedures.

    + Represent Texas A&M Engineering to event vendors and service providers and negotiate partnerships as needed.

    + Maintain comprehensive data on events per programming needs and assist with yearly reporting requirements.

    + Assist in the direction of planning, organization, and management of day-to-day activities, as well as developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the program.

    + This position requires direct engagement with minors and youth during program activities. The employee is expected to fully adhere to all university policies and state regulations pertaining to the safety and protection of minors.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    What we need:

    + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Five years of related experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.

    + Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
