What we want
The Academic Success Center is hiring a Program Coordinator I to join our Supplemental Instruction and tutoring team. You'll coordinate semester-long programming, evaluate and train student employees, and provide feedback. Experience with campus-based tutoring programs is essential. You should be comfortable conducting observations outside normal working hours, work well in a team, and troubleshoot scheduling issues. Salary: $45,000/annually

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Two years of experience in tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, student employee supervision, or other related area
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or general subject area of placement
+ More than two years of experience in tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, student employee supervision or other related area
+ Office administration experience
+ Higher education experience
+ Proficient experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Professional
+ Experience with student information system (Navigate). Familiarity with Texas A&M academic procedures, policies, and rules
+ Knowledge and understanding of FERPA
+ Ability to comply with Texas A&M, System, State and Federal laws, regulations, rules and policies
+ Training presentation and delivery skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of literature learning theories, student success, and student retention
+ Knowledge of Supplemental Instruction and/or tutoring programs
+ Proofreading, editing, and researching skills
+ Ability to understand, follow and give verbal and written instructions
Responsibilities
Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Program Coordination:
+ Collaborates with the Executive Director, Associate Director, and SI/Tutoring Team to creates policies and procedures for the tutoring and SI programs
+ Plans and implements tutoring and SI programs for the Academic Success Center
+ Provides feedback to tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders through observations
+ Provides ongoing supervision of tutors and SI Leaders
+ Compiles tutoring program statistics
+ Assists in the evaluation of programs through end of semester student and faculty feedback surveys
+ Assists with purchasing program related expenses
+ Maintains program records and databases
Hiring & Training:
+ Develops and updates training materials for tutors and SI Leaders
+ Develops and delivers pre-semester and on-going training for SI Leaders and tutors in accordance with certification requirements from the International Center for Supplemental Instruction and College Reading and Learning Association
+ Participates as part of the team to vet and hire SI Leaders and tutors
Communication:
+ Serves as the primary point of contact for the tutoring program
+ Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings
+ Coordinates program communications and marketing for both the SI and tutoring programs
Tutoring Shifts and Appointment Tracking:
+ Schedules the tutors working shifts using Navigate
+ Monitors tutoring appointments using Navigate

We provide workshops and classes on study skills, time management and related topics; tutoring; Supplemental Instruction; academic coaching; peer mentoring for transfer students, and support for students working on Texas State Initiative requirements.
