Description
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Worcester Massachusetts. In this role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a growing construction firm while fostering strong vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Review and verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Accurately enter invoices into the accounting system and assign appropriate cost codes.
• Resolve discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal teams to address issues promptly.
• Manage payment schedules, including processing check runs and recurring payments.
• Reconcile multiple credit card accounts and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Maintain positive vendor relationships by addressing payment inquiries and resolving account discrepancies.
• Keep detailed and organized records of all accounts payable transactions in both digital and physical formats.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of the accounts payable sub-ledger with the general ledger.
• Assist with financial reporting, including generating accounts payable aging reports and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.

Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related role.
• Proficiency in invoice processing, coding, and data entry.
• Strong skills in account reconciliation and managing check runs.
• Familiarity with construction accounting and cost management.
• Experience using spreadsheet tools like Excel and accounting software such as Dynamics 365 Business Central or Finance & Operations.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements, including sales tax and 1099 reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
