Description We are looking for a skilled Civil Defense Attorney to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes litigation cases, providing legal defense for trucking companies and other clients in accident-related claims. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in civil litigation and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal support from pre-suit investigations through trial and appeal.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in complex litigation cases, primarily involving trucking companies and accident claims.

• Conduct thorough pre-suit investigations to gather evidence and assess the merits of claims.

• Handle all aspects of trial preparation, including drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

• Attend and conduct depositions, mediations, and court hearings to advocate for clients.

• Collaborate with clients, including Fortune 100 companies and top-rated insurers, to develop effective legal strategies.

• Manage case files using advanced document and case management software to ensure organization and compliance.

• Analyze and respond to complaints, claims, and other legal matters with precision and efficiency.

• Provide guidance on insurance defense litigation and claim administration.

• Stay updated on legal precedents and changes in laws relevant to civil defense litigation.

• Participate in appeals processes as needed to protect client interests. Requirements • A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense or similar practice areas.

• Proficiency in case management and document management software, such as 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and Conveyancer.

• Strong skills in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

• Hands-on experience with trial preparation, including handling depositions and hearings.

• Familiarity with claim administration and complaint handling processes.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the California State Bar.

• A proven track record of successfully managing high-exposure and complex litigation cases.
