Description We are looking for a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in Biddeford, Maine. This role offers the opportunity to oversee critical financial operations while contributing to the success of a well-established organization. Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger activities and month-end close processes.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Provide technical accounting expertise to address complex financial issues and maintain updated policies.

• Oversee audit processes, leveraging experience in public accounting to ensure successful outcomes.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to conduct data analysis and support financial reporting.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations and reporting.

• Implement and maintain efficient accounting procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.

• Review and approve financial reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting documentation.

• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, particularly in non-profit accounting, to drive improvements. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.

• At least 5 years of experience in full-cycle general ledger accounting, including month-end close.

• Proven experience with financial statement preparation and technical accounting.

• Background in public accounting, particularly with auditing, is highly desireable.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities.

• Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices is a plus but not required.

• Strong supervisory skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
