Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Analyst to join our client on a contract-to-hire basis. Under minimal supervision, this role focuses on analyzing financial and expense performance, comparing investment returns, and managing various financial workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, a thorough understanding of financial systems, and a proven ability to manage high-volume transactions and collaborate across multiple stakeholders. This position will also play a critical role in overseeing legal payments and billing workflows for intellectual property management. This role is 100% in Downtown Houston.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
+ Conduct analytical reviews, including rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and performance comparisons
+ Coordinate preparation and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements
+ Analyze financial data, summarize reports, and provide actionable insights
+ Develop ad hoc financial reports to support management decision-making
Financial Operations Management:
+ Facilitate timely payments for legal services and act as the primary liaison with law firms and vendors
+ Maintain and enhance payment tracking systems to ensure deadlines and approvals are met
+ Organize invoices and address billing discrepancies related to legal reviews for trademarks, patents, and licensing agreements
Auditing & Compliance:
+ Assist in internal and external audits by providing requested information
+ Review financial workflows and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
Systems Maintenance & Optimization:
+ Maintain financial reporting systems and provide technical assistance to stakeholders
+ Create and streamline financial workflows to optimize process efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field, or equivalent specialized training in the relevant discipline
+ Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in financial analysis or operations
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large volumes of transactions under tight deadlines
+ Proven experience with financial tracking systems, payment tools, and reporting software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems)
+ Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking capabilities in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with legal billing, intellectual property management, or licensing workflows
+ Previous experience in legal operations or financial services
+ Experience processing daily wire payments and collaborating with Treasury teams
+ Background in building or maintaining payment systems or workflows from scratch is a plus

+ Ability to streamline processes and identify inefficiencies in financial operations.
