Description
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in designing, configuring, and maintaining wireless networks, Cisco switches and routers, and Palo Alto firewalls. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on technical experience with advanced configuration and troubleshooting skills. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, managing critical network components that ensure seamless business operations. This opportunity is 100% on-site, 5 days per week. At this time, we are unable to support C2C or relocation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment, including switches and routers, to ensure optimal performance.
+ Design and manage enterprise-level wireless networks, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity.
+ Implement and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, including rule creation, policy updates, and security monitoring.
+ Conduct network diagnostics to improve performance, resolve congestion, and mitigate service disruptions.
+ Monitor and analyze network performance, providing proactive recommendations for upgrades and optimizations.
+ Own and execute hands-on configuration tasks for network devices, including VLAN management, access controls, and traffic shaping.
+ Establish and maintain VPN solutions to support secure remote connectivity.
+ Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
+ Document network designs, configurations, and operating procedures to support operational efficiency.
+ Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated issues in a high-availability, mission-critical environment.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
+ 4+ years of hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco switches, routers, and wireless networking solutions.
+ Proven expertise in the configuration and management of Palo Alto firewalls (e.g., creating policies, NAT, and traffic-filtering rules).
+ Strong understanding of network protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, STP, BGP, OSPF, DHCP, and DNS.
+ Extensive experience with wireless network troubleshooting and optimization (e.g., Cisco Wireless Controllers and access points).
+ Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Palo Alto Panorama.
+ Familiarity with VPN technologies, including IPsec, SSL, and site-to-site configurations.
+ Excellent understanding of network security principles and practices related to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and access controls.
+ Ability to independently perform technical configuration tasks with minimal supervision.
+ Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE) are highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
+ Experience working with SD-WAN implementations.
+ Knowledge of cloud-based networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
+ Familiarity with scripting/automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
