This role is for a fulltime summer Process Mechanical Engineering Intern located in the Greenwood Village, Colorado office. As a summer intern you will assist other process mechanical engineers with various project tasks that may include engineering design, contract document production and construction phase engineering support. You will be mentored by a group of professional engineers and technical experts in designing facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities for water and wastewater plants, and conveyance systems like vaults, channels, and culverts.
Your typical job responsibilities will include:
* Work under the supervision of senior level engineers.
* Perform a variety of technical and project assignments, which require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
* Participate in design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients for planning, engineering and/or construction documents, reports, studies, and calculations.
* Engaging in technical writing, marking up and detailing construction drawings.
* Producing specifications.
* Performing field work tasks and site inspections.
* Assisting with services during construction which includes submittal review and RFI responses.
As part of our team, our goal is to provide a training opportunity to engage in the roles and responsibilities of an infrastructure focused process mechanical engineer. You will also collaborate with our CAD designers to communicate how process mechanical requirements get translated into construction drawings. This role will help you build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Process Mechanical Engineering and show how mechanical design integrates with and impacts other disciplines.
* Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and/or MicroStation.
* Good written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
* Personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
* 3.0 GPA minimum
* Must be at least a Junior.
* Self-driven time management and organizational skills.
* Experience with a PDF editor such as Bluebeam.
* EIT/EI or on track to obtain.
