Job Title: Material Handler: Forklift / Clamp Truck Operator

Job Description:

* Operates powered industrial truck/lift truck.

* Move, organize and maintain inventory of 500 or more material pallets.

* Receive new pallet shipments from suppliers.

* Inspect and remove damaged units from inventory.

* Inform purchasing manager of needs for new purchases.

* Perform daily lift truck inspection.

SAFETY

* Follow all plant rules and safety rules

* Follow housecleaning and sanitation rules

* Report all accidents and injuries to supervisor immediately

* Report all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor immediately

* Safety glasses must be always worn in the plant

* Always wear hearing protection

* Know lock out/tag out procedures

* Apply lock out/tag out prior to entering machine-Example: clearing jam ups, cleaning hotplates.

* Always wear Kevlar gloves.

* Apply proper lifting technique when lifting any material.

* Know and use the proper protection equipment for the job.

* Must maintain all tools in good working condition and must notify supervisor when repairs or replacement is needed.

* Be cautious when walking on conveyor rollers and using crossovers.

* Keep machine area clean.

* Know the locations of fire extinguishers, fire hoses and alarms.

Job Qualifications:

* Safe work practice certification and one-hour annual training

* Lockout/Tagout certification and one-hour annual training

* Prior experience palletizing/stacking materials

* Operate machine and move material in a safe and professional manner with indoor environment

* Communicate effectively with team members in a very noisy work environment

* Operate wireless two-way radio set to communicate with team members

* Read and follow written and verbal job order instructions

* Think and act quickly in a fast-paced production environment

The starting rate for this position is $17.17, depending on your role, level and location.
