The Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Postdoctoral Associate. The position is part of a large, interdisciplinary project involving experimental and computational studies of fluid flow and chemical odor transport in the context of olfaction, olfactory navigation, and brain function. The postdoc will work in the Ecological Fluid Dynamics Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Aaron True and Prof. John Crimaldi; we are leading a NSF NeuroNex 5-year grant that brings together an interdisciplinary team of 16 investigators from 16 universities and 3 countries. The anticipated start date for this position will be mid-July 2025.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The Postdoctoral Associate title is granted to persons holding a doctoral degree (or equivalent) and who will be engaged in a defined period of full-time mentored research and/or scholarship and field-appropriate professional activities in preparation for transition into a research career. Key responsibilities may include: performing research/scholarship under direct mentorship (focussed on tomographic PIV measurements of vortex dynamics in sniffing flows and/or simultaneous measurements of flow and odor dynamics in wind tunnel plumes), submitting fellowship and/or grant applications, drafting and submitting publications of your research/scholarship, attending and/or presenting your research/scholarship at national and international meetings, mentoring junior trainees, attending responsible conduct of research training, and attending professional skills training workshops offered through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
What We Can Offer
The annual salary range associated with this full-time position is $63,000.00 - $73,000.00.

What We Require
PhD degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline, with a specialization in fluid dynamics, completed as of the start date for this position.
