Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Description

As a Microbiology Lab Technician, you will perform Bioburden testing on medical device products and support the microbiology team. You will prepare media and sterilize samples using aseptic techniques, recognize malfunctions in laboratory equipment, notify management or perform simple repairs, conduct preventative maintenance, and maintain laboratory housekeeping. You will follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices. Training will be provided on USP 61 and USP 62, with potential training on LAL testing and other microbiology techniques.

Responsibilities

+ Perform Bioburden testing on medical device products

+ Support the microbiology team

+ Prepare media and sterilize samples using aseptic techniques

+ Recognize malfunctions in laboratory equipment and notify management or perform simple repairs

+ Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain laboratory housekeeping

+ Follow procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices

+ Train on USP 61 and USP 62

+ Potentially train on LAL testing and other microbiology techniques

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 1-2 years of microbiology experience (school/industry)

+ Bachelor's degree in Biology or Microbiology

+ Minimum 6 months of experience with aseptic technique

+ Preferred 6 months of experience with Bioburden testing

+ Minimum 6 months of GMP lab experience

+ USP testing experience (food, pharma, device, etc.)

+ USP-61 or USP-62 experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
