Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer with a knack for innovative design and CAD proficiency. Your ability to create detailed 3D CAD models and perform structural analysis, including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), is crucial for ensuring top-notch designs that meet required standards.
Responsibilities
+ Create detailed 3D CAD models and perform structural analysis, including hand calculations and FEA, to ensure high-quality designs.
+ Conduct aircraft aerodynamic and performance analysis, applying principles of aerodynamics to structural and flight testing.
+ Develop and maintain aircraft assembly instructions, manuals, service documentation, and drawings.
+ Produce high-quality part, tooling, and assembly drawings to support production.
+ Lead prototyping of parts, assemblies, and systems, bringing designs to life.
+ Conduct structural testing, including load development, test setup, execution, and flight testing, including planning, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
+ Interface with customers at events and fly-ins, providing technical assistance and resolving complex issues.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with CAD software, ideally SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
+ Experience in mechanical design, particularly in aerospace or aviation.
+ Proficiency in FEA analysis.
+ Experience with sheet metal, GD&T, and mechanical design engineering.
+ Ability to perform new product development and feasibility studies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with design software packages and project management.
+ 3D modeling expertise.
+ Understanding of test methods, avionics, and aerospace defense.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
