Job Title: Structures Mechanic - AURORA, OR
Job Description
In this role, you will work in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment, focusing primarily on heavy-lift helicopters, specifically Boeing CH-47 airframes. Your tasks will involve disassembling, repairing, fabricating parts as necessary, reassembling, installing, and documenting maintenance actions on these aircraft. The position primarily supports full rebuilds and occasionally fleet heavy maintenance checks.
Responsibilities
+ Review task cards and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.
+ Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools for removal, inspection, fabrication, repair, reassembly, and documentation.
+ Frequently remove and install standard and blind rivets, and perform drilling, reaming, and riveting to close tolerance.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal structures repair.
+ Experience fabricating parts, including cutting and bending, working from blueprints.
+ Experience with sheet metal repair, riveting, and airframe fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience repairing structures of CH-47 airframes is preferred.
+ Familiarity with the concept of 'Bend Allowance' or 'Bend Deduction'.
+ Tools required: basic tools, additional specialty sheet metal tools are advantageous.
+ Willingness to undergo testing on the first day, including installing fasteners and performing bends.
+ Open to candidates with 1-2 years of experience if located in northern OR/southern WA.

Work Environment
Work in heavy lift helicopter fleet MRO and rebuild hangars. Initial schedule is a 5-day week (8am - 4:30pm) for several weeks, transitioning to a 4-day week schedule (6am - 4:30pm), either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.

This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr.
