The Financial and Risk Analyst supports the organization’s Risk Management function by analyzing claims data, preparing financial reports, and contributing to insurance renewal processes. This role ensures data accuracy, identifies trends, supports actuarial reviews, and facilitates cross-functional collaboration to enhance risk mitigation strategies. The position is ideal for an early-career professional with strong analytical skills and an interest in insurance and risk analysis.
What you’ll be doing:
+ Analyze claims data to identify loss trends, emerging risks, and performance patterns that support strategic business decisions.
+ Drive process improvements by maintaining existing reporting tools and supporting implementation of new ones.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations) to improve understanding of risk exposures and communicate how risk initiatives impact operational outcomes.
+ Extract, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial and risk-related reports.
+ Generate quarterly loss run reports and track insurance payment trends to identify seasonality and exposure patterns.
+ Analyze insurance payments and claims settlement patterns to understand seasonality and support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
+ Support insurance renewal activities, including data gathering, data accuracy checks, application completion, and coordination with brokers and carriers.
+ Assist with actuarial reviews, including exposure data gathering, calendar management, and documentation of results.
+ Provide general administrative and analytical support for the Risk Management team, including backing up processes such as certificates of insurance and invoice reconciliation.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
+ 1 or more years’ experience in risk analysis, finance, or insurance
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and formulas)
+ Experience working with data sets, databases, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
+ Exposure to insurance programs, claims data, or risk management processes
+ Familiarity with data querying languages (e.g., SQL)
+ Prior internship or experience in a corporate finance, insurance, or risk management department
+ Experience using reporting platforms or managing actuarial data processes
