    Summary:

    The Finance Shared Services Manager is a key leadership role within the Accounting and Finance team.  The role is responsible for managing the accounting functions for the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets, including financial reporting and month-end closing process. The position oversees working capital requirements, coordinates external financial and bank audits, manages expense reporting, as well as lead and develop high performing teams.

    Job Duties:

    The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

     

    + Responsible for the General Ledger chart of accounts maintenance.

    + Execute accounting activities within the shared services group (A/R & A/P).

    + Oversee treasury management of the corporation in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer by monitoring daily cash positions, forecasting short-term needs, and handling bank relations.

    + Interact with all levels of employees and establish productive relationships.

    + Resolve challenging issues appropriately and communicate in a timely, clear, and concise manner.

    + Develop, mentor, and coach direct reports. Implement SMART goals that align to company and team priorities.

    + Oversee Company credit card expense reporting; ensure all business spend adheres to company policies and regulations.

    + Analyze, interpret, and communicate data needed for sounds business and financial decision making.

    + Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure financials are properly recorded and reported on a timely and consistent basis.

    + Establish effective internal accounting controls; document processes, identify internal control weaknesses, and provide recommendations.

    + Manage and coordinate the Company fiscal year-end audits as the lead representative working directly with our external auditors, coordinate task assignments, due dates, and completeness.

    + Calculate weekly and monthly bank borrowing base and debt covenants compliance certificates.

    + Prepare and coordinate annual or semi-annual bank audits.

    + Research, monitor, and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.

    + Evaluate Winona’s accounting practices in accordance with GAAP to ensure conformance with standards.

    + Maintain and post recurring standard journal entries.

    + Owns the Balance Sheet account reconciliation process. Updates the close file during month end, completes assigned reconciliations, and reviews all other accounts to ensure adequate support exists and all variances are understood and identified.

    + Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and third parties.

    + Manage and coordinate fixed asset reporting, roll-forward schedules, additions, disposals, and transfers plus helps formulate capital expenditures and depreciation for forecasts and annual plan.

    + Maintain and update actual capital spending versus forecast or plan.

    + Prepare and post fixed asset journal entries and completes related account reconciliations.

    + Work closely with project leaders to close active projects and assign costs to specific assets for capitalization.

    + Work with our third-party fixed asset administrator to maintain fixed asset records.

    + Ensure all fixed assets are properly tagged.

    + Work with appraisers as needed and conduct a physical internal audit of assets every three years.

    + Contribute to other projects and initiatives, as assigned

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred

    + 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience; cash/treasury management experience preferred

    + Solid experience using all Microsoft Office products; Advanced Excel skills required

    + Experience using an ERP system

    + Experience in budget preparation and financial analysis required

    + Treasury/Banking experience preferred, but not required

    + Occasional travel required, as necessary

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend documents such as credit information, margin reports, sales figures, productivity information, etc.  Ability to write standard documentation.  Ability to effectively present information to other employees in the organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
