The Jacobs-led team will serve as MARTA's CPMO Supplemental Services Consultant and manage the construction aspects. A joint venture between Jacobs and H. J. Russell & Company - was selected to support the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) as they embark on their expansion program. The position will go through the Joint Venture JRMT Program.
Summary of position:
Cost Engineers play a crucial role in the successful management of projects by delivering informed decisions that impact both the budget and timeline. They are essential in analyzing and interpreting financial data to provide strategic insights that facilitate effective resource allocation. Furthermore, they identify potential risks that could affect project outcomes, allowing for proactive measures to be implemented. Additionally, they meticulously determine production costs, ensuring that all financial aspects align with project goals and objectives. Their expertise is pivotal in driving efficiency and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Develops, implements, and maintains change management control logs for use by Project Manager, Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, Project Engineers, and Office Engineers.
* Assist Project Manager, Area Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Schedulers and Estimators in the evaluating contractor change notice documentation.
* Assist Project Manager, Area Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, as requested, in the negotiation of contract changes.
* Coordinate with and assist Senior Scheduler in the development of the Master Schedules.
* Participate in constructability reviews as directed.
* Participate in the preparation of cost estimates as requested to support the evaluation of construction changes.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
* Support the Invoice Administrators utilization of MARTA On-Line Invoicing System (OLIS).
* Has experience in cost management for several contract delivery types: including Construction Management At-Risk, Design/Build, Design/Bid/Build, Job Order Contracting, and Progressive Design/Build.
* Must have experience in understanding of construction contracts.
* Understanding of Earned Value Management is preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree (B. S.), or equivalent, in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a Construction related field; or ten to twelve years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* BS or BA in Cost Management, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or Finance
* At least 10 years of experience in a project controls or related function
* Minimum of five (5) plus years’ experience on PMCM contracts for a project/program working on a client site and interacting with the internal/external customers on all levels of management.
