Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides patient care in the area of vascular surgery in hospital and outpatient settings

+ Instructs and supervises medical students and surgery residents

+ Performs vascular surgical procedures

+ Conducts clinical research and / or produce scholarship related to vascular surgery

+ Provides on-call coverage, as scheduled

+ Serves the academic community through participations in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties

+ Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission

+ Ensures compliance and HIPAA and billing regulations

+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Board certification in vascular surgery by the American board of Surgery

+ Experience or interest in teaching students and residents

+ Experience or interest in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

+ Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor higher

Pay Statement:

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D or D.O. degree

+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited integrated vascular surgery residency program or successful completion of ACGME-accredited general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship programs

+ Texas Medical License, or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
