    The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role will involve conducting audits, training employees, and promoting a culture of safety within the facility.

    Essential Functions

    + Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.

    + Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.

    + Review and update EHS programs to reflect changes in legislation and best practices.

    + Responsible for energy management and use reduction programs.

    + Conduct training sessions for team members on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements.

    + Develop training materials and resources to enhance employee awareness of EHS issues.

    + Perform regular EHS audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

    + Onsite contact for Corporate EHS Department and under their direction manages OSHA actions such as, but not limited to, inspections, letters of noncompliance and informal conferences.

    + Prepare reports on EHS performance, incidents, and compliance status for Corporate EHS review.

    + Investigate incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.

    + Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.

    + Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

    + Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.

    + Coordinate emergency drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.

    + Collaborate with various departments to promote EHS initiatives and foster a culture of safety.

    + Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries and concerns.

    + Occasional travel to other manufacturing sites.

    Qualifications

    + BS Degree

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental health and safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

    + Creative ability in insuring safety of employees, the environment while meeting the needs of production.

    + Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices.

    + Experience in Ergonomics and Behavior Based Safety a plus

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Ability to work effectively with management as well as with team members from the floor.

    + Proficient in EHS Management Software programs.
