Description We are looking for an experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in San Francisco, California. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction law and government contracts, who thrives in both litigation and advisory settings. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic counsel to clients in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
• Provide legal representation and counsel to clients, including owners, contractors, and designers, in construction-related matters.
• Draft, negotiate, and administer contracts for commercial and government construction projects.
• Handle litigation and arbitration cases involving construction disputes, delays, design defects, and bid protests.
• Address procurement-related issues, including risk management, claim documentation, and equitable adjustments.
• Advise clients on dispute avoidance measures and manage claims for extra work or change orders.
• Conduct legal research and prepare briefs using tools such as LexisNexis and other case management software.
• Develop strategies for resolving construction and design defect claims efficiently.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with contract terms and mitigate legal risks.
• Represent clients in complex civil litigation and manage all aspects of case preparation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records to support legal proceedings and client needs. Requirements • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California Bar.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction law, government contracts, or related legal fields.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and case management software.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation, claim administration, and contract documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing and complaint handling.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Familiarity with risk management and dispute resolution processes in construction projects.
