Birchcrest Tree and Landscape, Inc. is looking for a year-round Tree Groundsperson with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in the tree care industry.

Tree Groundsperson Duties may include:

+ Hauling wood and brush from the tree to the truck, using various hand and power tools, assisting tree climbers, and cleaning the job site

+ Gathers brush and feeds brush into a woodchipper

+ Uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees

+ Services truck, chipper, and equipment, and maintains them in a neat, clean, and specified mechanical state

+ Works on unlevel ground

+ Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature

+ Performs other related work, as assigned by supervisors

Requirements include:

+ Must be able to prune and remove trees in a safe manner while utilizing machinery

+ Self-motivated individual able to work well with a team of co-workers

+ Experience with the safe operation of chainsaws and other pruning equipment

+ Excellent work habits and organizational skills

+ Good communication and customer service skills

+ ISA Certified Arborist status, and/or CDL is highly desirable but not required

Minimum Requirements

+ Must be able to wear necessary PPE

+ Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments

+ Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment

+ **Given the dangerous nature of the work required, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time**

Physical Requirements:

+ Must be able to lift, move and maneuver heavy weights of 10 pounds frequently, and weights of up to 50 pounds

+ Gripping

+ Climbing

+ Climbing on and off truck

+ Balancing

+ Pulling and pushing
