General Description
Objective: The Tech Talent Pipeline (TTP) Residency Program at Baruch College seeks an experienced technical instructor to lead a 5-week Cybersecurity Bootcamp for Computer Information Systems (CIS) majors. We are currently hiring one (1) instructor. The bootcamp will be delivered with a hybrid schedule with 3 days in person and 2 days virtually.

ABOUT THE TECH TALENT PIPELINE:The NYC Tech Talent Pipeline (TTP), an initiative of the Workforce Development Corporation (WDC), is the City of New York’s tech industry partnership. Launched in 2014, TTP supports the inclusive growth of NYC’s tech sector and prepares New Yorkers for 21st-century jobs. TTP collaborates with over 385 companies, 17 local colleges, and multiple public and private partners to align training and education with employer needs, delivering quality tech talent for NYC businesses and quality career paths for New Yorkers.
Other Duties
+ Deliver CIS-focused technical instruction in Cybersecurity, including practical labs and projects aligned with workforce expectations. Students enrolling in this bootcamp are assumed to have basic familiarity with python and some elementary data wrangling skills. Some level setting is needed on the first day. These students will not have taken a class on Data structures.
+ Embed training through a series of hands-on projects that students can showcase on GitHub and add to their resumes.
+ Provide technical interview prep and career readiness sessions to address common skill gaps.
+ Manage classroom activities, support teaching assistants, and coordinate group assignments.
+ Guide students through group and individual project development, including capstone presentations.
+ Identify and suggest improvements to curriculum content and instructional delivery methods.
+ Review, assess, and grade student assignments and final projects.
+ Submit a final program report with summaries of student performance and instructional outcomes.
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS:
+ BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or equivalent math / science discipline
+ Experience teaching cybersecurity to college students or adult learners
+ Proficiency in:
+ Programming: Python
+ Cybersecurity Concepts: Network security, IAM, Encryption, threat modeling, system hardening, ethical hacking, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS) -(Familiarity with SY0-701 Security+). Concepts should be covered in an applied manner as the workshop is oriented towards business school students majoring in Computer Information Systems (CIS)
+ Familiarity with relevant platforms and tools such as Git/GitHub, and Cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), Wireshark, etc.
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a collaborative instructional team
PREFERRED:
+ MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or equivalent math / science discipline
+ SECURITY+ and / or CISSP
+ Other Tech / Cyber / networking industry certification is a plus
+ Prior experience in a bootcamp setting or within the CUNY system or elsewhere
+ Industry experience in Data Analytics or Cybersecurity
+ Experience delivering instruction in virtual or hybrid classroom environments
