Job Title: Patient Registration Clerk
Department: Patient Access C
Hours Per Week: 40 hours (can pick up additional shifts)
Schedule: Variable day; Primarily evenings and midnights, every other weekend, holidays (Training is approximately 3 three months, primarily days, and variable locations between Massena, Potsdam, and Canton.)
SUMMARY:
The Patient Registration Clerk delivers customer service and handles registration and switchboard duties at Massena Hospital. Reporting to the Patient Access Services Manager, the role includes pre-registration, full registration, insurance verification, data entry, alarm monitoring, and point-of-service collections. The clerk supports patient satisfaction and ensures accurate financial outcomes for Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Collect and verify patient demographic, financial, and medical information, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
+ Verify insurance eligibility, process co-payments, and ensure compliance with third-party payer requirements.
+ Answer calls professionally, assist with inquiries, and manage hospital paging, call schedules, and lockdown procedures.
+ Provide a welcoming and empathetic experience, address patient concerns, and maintain confidentiality.
+ Assist patients with financial options and refer to advocacy programs as needed.
+ Obtain necessary signatures, complete required Medicare forms, and maintain accurate records.
+ Support new staff orientation, attend training sessions, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School Diploma (Or equivalent)

PAY RANGE:
$16.70 - $22.49
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
