Job Title: Histology Technologist
Job Description
As a Histology Technologist, you’ll play a crucial role in advancing patient care by preparing tissue specimens from skin samples for detailed microscopic examination. Your expertise ensures the accurate analysis needed to guide diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare tissue specimens from skin samples for detailed microscopic examination.
+ Ensure accurate analysis to guide diagnosis and treatment.
+ Utilize microtome and staining techniques to prepare slides.
+ Perform routine pathology, immunohistochemistry, special stains, and direct immunofluorescence studies.
+ Utilize advanced automated technology for processing and staining to streamline workflows.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in histology techniques.
+ Experience with microtome and staining.
+ Knowledge of pathology and histology.
+ HT/L ASCP certification or completion of Histology Technician training course.
+ Certification required within 1 year of hire.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree in a science-related field.
+ Previous experience in a lab environment is preferred.
Work Environment
Our state-of-the-art laboratory in Pleasant Prairie spans 30,000 square feet and is designed to support expansion and growth. The lab features an open concept with natural light and operates multiple shifts, 5 days per week. We specialize in a wide range of dermatology testing and use advanced automated technology to ensure precision and efficiency.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
