    Job Title: Field Service TechnicianJob Description

     

    The Field Service Technician will primarily travel to various sites, spending 70-80% of their time on the road. Travel occurs during weekdays, with departures on Mondays and returns by Fridays, with rare weekend stays. This role involves the start-up and commissioning of equipment, setting up industrial networks and performing PLC and HMI programming for water systems. The technician will ensure equipment is running smoothly and troubleshoot any issues. While most equipment is pre-programmed and built, the technician will support formal set-up and installation, making minor programming modifications as needed. Strong programming skills will open opportunities for additional projects involving more programming. Remote work is possible when not traveling, with the option to work onsite in Waunakee.

    Responsibilities

    + Travel extensively during weekdays to client sites, returning by Fridays.

    + Perform start-up and commissioning of equipment.

    + Set up industrial networks, including PLC and HMI programming for water systems.

    + Ensure proper functioning of equipment and troubleshoot issues.

    + Support formal set-up and installation of pre-programmed equipment.

    + Make minor programming modifications as necessary.

    + Engage in additional programming projects if possessing strong programming skills.

    Essential Skills

    + Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

    + Understanding of schematics and pneumatics.

    + Proficiency with hand tools and blueprint reading.

    + Experience in wiring and preventive maintenance.

    + Field service and installation expertise.

    + Automation and automated equipment knowledge.

    + PLC programming, troubleshooting, control, maintenance, and installation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate's Degree in Industrial Controls or Automation.

    + At least 5 years of experience in a field service/travel role.

    + Minimum 5 years of experience installing automated equipment.

    + 5+ years of experience troubleshooting automated equipment and PLCs.

    + Industrial electrician experience is beneficial.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves system integration for municipalities and wastewater management, along with electrical contracting for suppliers. The role supports building equipment in the UL panel shop in Minnesota and engages in public bids for municipal projects through engineering design processes. The team focuses on process controls and automation for wastewater plants or city water systems, creating control panels, motor control centers, and setting up industrial networks, including PLC and HMI programming and radio telemetry networks. The technician will receive a company vehicle equipped with necessary tools for travel, a per diem to cover meals and hotels, along with a company credit card and gas card.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $124800.00/yr.

     

    The company offers great benefits including health, medical and dental. 2-4 weeks of PTO based on years of experience.
