    Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse Charge Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South).     **Schedule:** Full Time - Nights - 36 hours per week

    Unit Summary

    This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service include the following but are not limited to:

     

    + Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)

    + Complex Plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma related reconstruction)

    + Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections.

    + Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies

    + Traumatic Complex Fractures and musculoskeletal wounds

    + Elective Joint Replacements – Rapid Recovery Program

    + Sports Injuries

    + Spinal Deformities

    + Complicated Pelvic, Hip, and compression Fractures

    + Skeletal Malformations and Abnormalities

    + Amputations and Prosthesis

    + Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery

    + Medical/Surgical patients including those requiring Telemetry

    Requirements of the Ideal Candidate

    • Graduate of RN School of Nursing

    • ADN required

    • Active RN License

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Require or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer

    Qualifications

    + We are looking for someone who has completed an established program in Nursing.

    + At least (2) two years in the field.

    + Registered Nurse License.

    + You must have Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.
