Job Details About the Workforce Resilience and Prevention Institute Catholic Health is launching the Workforce Resilience and Prevention Institute, a transformative initiative funded by Nassau County and coordinated by Catholic Health. The Institute exists to address the stress, burnout, and trauma experienced by healthcare professionals across Nassau County, while advancing a regional culture of well-being, resiliency, and post-traumatic growth. Rooted in Catholic Health’s mission and values, the Institute will serve as a Center of Excellence for mental health and wellness, leadership development, and staff engagement. Additionally, it will lead substance use disorder interventions and education—supporting both our own system and external partners in addressing the opioid epidemic and related behavioral health challenges. Position Overview The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and vision for the Institute. This leader will be responsible for ensuring the success of all grant-funded activities, building partnerships, and aligning the Institute’s work with both Catholic Health’s internal goals and broader regional healthcare needs. Reporting to Catholic Health’s Chief Performance Officer, the Executive Director will guide a small team—including a program manager, behavioral health educators, and both internal and external collaborators—while also serving as a public-facing representative of the Institute in Nassau County and beyond. This is a part-time role (3 days per week) and is ideal for a strategic, mission-aligned leader with a passion for workforce wellness, trauma-informed systems, and collaborative change. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Vision Define and steward the Institute’s mission, values, and strategic direction in collaboration with Catholic Health and Nassau County Develop and sustain the Institute’s reputation as a regional Center of Excellence for healthcare workforce resilience Ensure integration of the Institute’s work into Catholic Health’s mission, population health, clinical leadership, and workforce strategies Program Oversight & Development Supervise implementation of initiatives in wellness, trauma-informed care, and substance use prevention Provide oversight of program design, budget use, data tracking, and quality improvement Guide development of leadership education, learning resources, and community engagement programming Internal & External Partnership Building Serve as the primary liaison to Nassau County grant leadership and other funding or oversight bodies Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. Mission, HR, Behavioral Health, Primary Care, Nursing, Emergency Medicine) Engage external healthcare providers, CBOs, educational institutions, and advocacy organizations Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead a multidisciplinary team, including program manager, educators, and clinical collaborators Provide mentorship, strategic guidance, and administrative supervision to support program success Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability Qualifications Master’s or Doctorate in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related field strongly preferred 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, wellness, public health, or nonprofit program development Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed systems, mental health promotion, or substance use prevention Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and working with external partners or funders Strong public speaking, communication, and executive decision-making skills Familiarity with Catholic Health’s mission and operations is strongly preferred Preferred Attributes Strategic systems thinker with a servant leadership mindset Deep understanding of healthcare workforce dynamics, especially post-COVID Experience managing grant-funded programs or regional initiatives Commitment to building inclusive, equitable, and resilient care environments Salary Range USD $110,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
