THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of SCI Chester. This important position requires you to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the heating boilers, chilled water systems, cooling towers, and standby generators at the institution. This position also requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in high-stress situations. Your work will directly impact the safety and well-being of both staff and inmates, making it a highly important and challenging position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
+ Work hours: To be determined, depending on operational needs.
+ 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a shift differential of $1.25 per hour
+ 3rd shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday - Friday, with a shift differential of $1.15 per hour
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
+ Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
+ You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
