    _Do you have a passion for safety and patient care? We're on the lookout for a Safety Sitter who can keep patients and everyone around them safe and sound. If you're ready to be the guardian of good times and the protector of play, we want you on our team!_

    Responsibilities:

    + Assists and shows good judgment in analyzing problems and taking appropriate action in both routine and emergency situations.

    + Communicates effectively and appropriately. Uses good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as wells the best way to get that accomplished.

    + Handles sensitive or difficult issues with diplomacy and confidence.

    + Remains objective in the face of strong emotions. Can acknowledge strong emotions without being unduly influenced by their intensity.

    + Practices within scope of licensure, certification, and/or job description.

    + Takes personal responsibility for patient care and safety.

    + Complies with National Patient Safety Goals and other regulatory standards.

    + Includes safety assessments and planning for all activities and services being provided. Speaks up, and encourages patients and family members to do likewise, if safety is a concern.

    + Promptly reports safety risks and takes appropriate action to reduce these risks.

    + Maintains an uninterrupted line of sight with the patient at all times.

    + Reports any activity outside of established parameters to assigned RN.

    + Provides comfort measures to patient as needed to assure safety; e.g. additional pillow placement, drink of water as appropriate, repositioning of extremities on request, etc.

     

    Schedule: Rotating days, weekends, and holidays. Rotating daylight, afternoon, and overnight shifts. The option of 8 and 12 hour shifts may be available!

     

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    + Previous experience working with behavioral health patients is preferred.

    + Aggression management, physical comfort and monitoring safety.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Act 33, 34, 31, 73
