    Now Hiring: Payroll Clerk

    **Location:** Springfield, MA

    **Schedule:** Full-time | Monday–Friday

    **Pay:** $27.50 per hour

     

    First Student is seeking a **Payroll Clerk** to support our Springfield location. In this role, you'll assist the Contract Manager with day-to-day payroll responsibilities, maintain accurate employee records, and help ensure smooth clerical and accounting operations. This is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented, organized, and ready to contribute to a mission-driven team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Process new hire files and submit completed documentation for approval and regional processing

    + Calculate and input payroll accurately for drivers and staff

    + Track attendance for permanent part-time employees and maintain driver seniority records

    + Assist with benefits enrollment and clerical/accounting support

    + Monitor and verify overtime and standard hours to support cost management

    + Answer phones, handle mail, and maintain office supply inventory

    + Perform additional administrative duties as needed

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education:

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    Experience and Skills:

    + Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

    + Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

    + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and 10-key data entry

    + Self-starter with leadership qualities

    + Previous payroll or administrative experience preferred
