    Job Description

    Title: World Languages Teacher Leader

    Position:

    + World Languages 7-12

    Qualifications:

    + Hold valid New York State certification in designated area of leadership position

    + Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills

    + Effective communication and problem solving skills

    + Knowledge of curriculum and the instructional best practices

    + Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting

    + Be able to work effectively with a variety of staff and groups

    Responsibilities : Shall include but are not limited to the following:

    + Assists in the development of curriculum as needed

    + Plans, facilitates and presents pertinent information at monthly department meetings. Records minutes and distributes copies to Principal and Director of P-12 Humanities and Professional Learning

    + Meets monthly with Director of P-12 Humanities and Professional Learning

    + Meets with P-12 department teacher leaders as necessary

    + Serves on Building Leadership Team

    + Serves on district committees aligned to the teacher leader assignment

    + Participates in department pilots

    + Analyzes Bilingual Education & World Languages performance data and assists teachers with the interpretation of data as needed

    + Participates in respective program reviews

    + Gathers information related to respective department needs

    + Coordinates material management

    + Responsible for overseeing building department budget

    + Assists building administration in the coordination of assessment scheduling, including proctoring and scoring

    + Participates in planning department special events (i.e. guest speakers)

    + Provides leadership in implementing and evaluating building and district level initiatives

    + Collaborates with special education department and personnel to support instructional needs within the content area

    + Assists in development of master schedule, as requested by building administration

    + Serves as a consultant to the teachers in their respective building or department

    + Attends training as deemed appropriate by the administration

    + Conducts workshops, demonstrations, or in-service training for teachers as needed

    + General Teacher Leader Assignments

    + Provides input into staff development programs and conference day planning

    + Serves on pertinent interview committees as needed

    + Maintains confidentiality with staff, student and family information

     

    Reports to: Principal and Director of P-12 Humanities and Professional Learning

     

    Salary: As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers’ Association

    Terms of Employment:

    The position of Bilingual Education & World Languages Teacher Leader is a ten-month position. The terms established in accordance with the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers’ Association.

    Evaluation:

    Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by district administration.
