    **Summary** :

     

    The Staff Accountant position assumes responsibility and accountability for maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records. Responsible for reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts: and researching and clearing sale items. This position plays an active role during the period end closing. The Staff Accountant provides support for other accounting services areas through assistance in problem resolution, research, and training. Duties also include assignments of special projects or any other accounting functions assigned.

     

    **Responsibilities Include** :

    + Actively support the completion of period end closing activities and quarterly/yearly reporting.

    + compile, analyze and reconcile assigned balance sheet general ledger accounts, this process includes taking appropriate action to research an clear items on a timely basis.

    + Post general ledger journal entries on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

    + Perform analytical rate volume review and documentation of variances month over month and quarter over quarter.

    + Ensure accounting records and schedules are maintained in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

    + Assist in the development of new processes and modifications of existing processes to meet the needs of the organization's continued growth.

    + Participate in special accounting projects, which include but is not limited to: data input, data retrieval and analysis, testing, and research.

    + Understand and apply US GAPP guidance.

    **Control Related Responsibilities** :

     

    Become knowledgeable regarding the department's internal controls as outlined in the policies and procedures and comply with all control requirements.

     

    **Qualifications** :

    + Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university.

    + CPA or CPA ready preferred

    + Related accounting experience (1-2 years preferred)

    + Intermediate/advanced excel skills including extensive knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, etc

    + Possess strong verbal, communication and interpersonal skills

    + Demonstrate attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
