The College of Dentistry is looking for a Patient Services Associate I to serve in the department of Clinical Affairs. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. What you need to know
Salary range: $19.56/hour
Work Schedule/Location: Located in Dallas, Texas, this is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Two years of related experience in a general office setting
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
+ Knowledge of standard office protocol and the use of standard office equipment
+ Knowledge of the use of a multi-line phone system
Preferred Education and Experience:
+ Some college credit hours
+ More than two years of related experience in a general office setting
+ Cashier experience
+ Bilingual in a language (Spanish/English)
Responsibilities
+ Patient Service Associate - Provides customer service to patients (both scheduling appointments and arriving to appointments) and maintains patient records and statistics in accordance with established procedures. Greets and checks in patients, assisting them with their questions and needs. Verifies patients’ insurance eligibility and benefits and obtains referrals and/or authorizations required for payment.
+ Financial - Collects payments for services and documents payments in electronic medical records. Handles patient’s financial accounts. Balances monies received and creates a report for designated personnel.
+ Treatment Code Data Entry - Assists Clinic Coordinator with entering treatment codes, assists in processing patient refunds and assists in collection of PHI.
