Job Description

One of Insight Global's clients in the Oil and Gas industry is looking to hire a Sr. Data Engineer within their Optimization group. This team is dedicated to optimizing field operations and oil production through systems and software. This person will be involved in various projects related to optimizing production volumes, drilling processes, environmental planning, and more. The Sr. Data Engineer will be responsible for database design and some backend software development. The ideal candidate will have experience building Oracle databases and knowledgeable in running a service utilizing TypeScript. They are looking for someone to optimize the current database structure. The database that the optimization group owns is Oracle, but this person will also be required to tap into other team's databases that could be Postgres or MemSQL. This position is based in downtown, Houston and requires working onsite 5 days / week. Based on knowledge and years of experience, this position offers an hourly pay rate range of $65-75/hr.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer

Experienced and knowledgeable in database design

Strong experience with Oracle databases

Experience with Postgres and MemSQL

Skilled with TypeScript programming Background in software development

Experience with Node.js and React development

Experience in the O&G industry null
