    Overview

     

    Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics. Appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered for the qualified candidate

    Responsibilities

    + Teaching: Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture), required; General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture); advanced courses within the candidate's area of expertise.

    + Advisement: Undergraduate student academic advisement

    + Service: As required to further the Mission regarding the Department, University, and Community, including but not limited to textbook selection, course and lab design, committee work.

    Qualifications

    Education/ Experience

    + Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry required.

    + Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry required.

    + Proven (peer-reviewed publication, presentations, etc.) track record of research involving undergraduate students is required.

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

    + Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required.

    + Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, & Adobe Connect required

    + Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required

    + Familiarity with chemical laboratory safety issues

    + Ability to design and implement novel teaching lab modalities

    + Ability to set up and maintain a research program involving undergraduate students.

     

    Travel

     

    + The position is located mainly at our Brooklyn campus. Occasional teaching at our other undergraduate campuses in the New York are is expected.

     

    Maximum Salary

     

    USD $78,883.00/Yr.

     

    Minimum Salary

     

    USD $63,106.00/Yr.
