    SUMMARY

    Provides technical support and direction to Instrumentation and Controls (I/C) craft personnel in performance of the maintenance or modification activities in the Long-Range Planning department.

    EDUCATION

    • Associates degree in technical field of I/C. (Preferred)

    • Without a degree, a graduate of an I/C journeyman apprentice training program, equivalent military training, or 3 years’ experience in nuclear construction start-up or maintenance may be considered.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Planner 1 – Additional experience not required.

    • Planner 2 – minimum of 6 months in the Planner Apprentice Program (Required)

    • Planner 3 – minimum of 12 months in the Planner Apprentice Program (Required)

    • Planner – minimum of 18 months in the Planner Apprentice Program, On the Job Training, or similar plant experience (Required)

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

    • There is no Certification or Licensure Listed

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops, processes, and revises work packages for the performance of corrective, preventative maintenance, and modifications in support of The Long Range Maintenance Planning department and Work Process milestones.

    • Utilizes the Corrective Action Program and Work Management System to provide quality documents, feedback process, and corrective actions; and provides organizational interface to resolve restraints.

    SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledgeable and proficient in advanced Turbine/secondary systems such as turbine controls, Ovation controls, and Steam Generator (S/G) feed pump controls

    • Knowledgeable and proficient in advanced primary systems such as Rod control, Solid State Protection Systems (SSPS), and digital rod position indication.

    • The areas of technical knowledge and skills include the theory, maintenance, and repair of but not limited to:

    o 7300 system and associated controls

    o Process Instrumentation

    • Pressure/Level. Flow Transmitters, Indicators, and Switches

    • Process analyzers

    • Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD)/Thermocouples

    o Speed/Vibe/Proximity Probes

    o Electronic Circuity

    o Pneumatic Instrumentation

    o Recorders

    o Proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) Controllers

    o Programmable Logic Controllers

    o Digital control systems

    o Air Operated Control Valves and Actuators

    o Splices and Terminations

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accept ERO position as needed.

    • Accept outage position as needed.

    • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.

    • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

    ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

    • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

    • Travel may be required.

    • May be required to carry a phone.

    WORK LOCATION

    • Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
