Adjunct Instructor – Culinary Arts
Employment Terms: This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Business Science Division that reports to the Program Director – Culinary Arts.
Salary – Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours taught.
Minimum Requirements (Job Code 10317) – Bachelor's degree in related discipline OR associate's degree plus related work experience. Minimum two (2) years’ work experience required. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned
Preferred Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of food service experience, Servsafe Certification; Postsecondary culinary/ hospitality teaching experience. Current ACF Certification or the ability to be certified.
Job Description - Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab course material. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for general core courses. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts. If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials Training annually.

+ Constructs training modules, tools, materials, supplies and equipment to comply with local requirements for safety and security needs and in accordance with state and federal work standards.
+ Ensures students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
+ Ensures classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
+ Maintains a secure training and work area that proves freedom of movement for students during performance of work and training assignments and complies with the security requirements of the organization.
