    As a Software Engineer III-Java/Python/Spark at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking-Data Delivery team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

    Job responsibilities

    + Provides recommendations and insight on data management, governance, procedures, and intricacies applicable to the acquisition, maintenance, validation, and utilization of data

    + Designs and delivers trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way

    + Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

    + Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems

    + Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems

    + Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

    + Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    + Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience

    + Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

    + Proficient in coding in one or more languages, including Java or Python

    + Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages

    + Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Apache Spark, involving the development and optimization of large-scale data processing applications, implementing Spark SQL for querying structured data, utilizing Spark Streaming for real-time data analytics, and leveraging Spark's machine learning libraries to build predictive models, ensuring high performance and scalability across distributed computing environments

    + Acquired hands-on expertise with PySpark, focusing on developing and optimizing large-scale data processing applications using Python, implementing Spark SQL for efficient querying and manipulation of structured data, utilizing PySpark's DataFrame API for seamless data transformation, and leveraging PySpark's machine learning libraries to build and deploy scalable predictive models

    + Hands-on experience using Snowflake and Data Lakes

    + Experienced in using Java, Python, or Scala for developing high-performance applications, including building scalable backend systems, implementing functional programming paradigms, and integrating with Apache Spark for big data processing.

    + Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

    + Solid understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

    + Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    + Familiarity with modern data engineering technologies

    + Hands-on experience using Ab Initio for designing and implementing complex ETL processes, optimizing data transformation workflows, managing metadata, and ensuring seamless integration with various data sources

    + Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies

    + Demonstrated ability to guide development teams through complex software projects, and drive strategic initiatives
