We are seeking a Part-Time Trauma Informed Specialist to provide Trauma Informed Services to youth being detained in the Scott County Juvenile Detention Center in Davenport Travel will be required.
In this role, you will:
+ Utilize standardized assessment and diagnostic tools at minimum to assure a comprehensive assessment occurs resulting in a diagnosis if relevant to the client.
+ Ability to use Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders.
+ Develops a comprehensive treatment plan for the client based on Medicaid or other payer's criteria and best practice protocols for the diagnosis.
+ Makes responsible referral decisions based on diagnosis, needs, and strengths of the client.
+ Provides referral source with all relevant information both verbally and in writing that supports the findings of the assessment, diagnosis, and the goals of the treatment plan.
+ Reviews the progress of the treatment plan during prescribed intervals.
+ Re-evaluates the client based on provider and family input with progress to assess need for service level and intensity. Makes changes to the treatment plan based on findings.
+ Re-refers case as needed or authorizes services continuing.
+ Provides all written documentation in a timely and thorough manner. Understands that all information in their reports/treatment plan is held to the highest level of professional scrutiny by the family, child, courts, providers, and other stakeholders for the client.
+ Provides LSI with all relevant documentation that can assure timely billing of services.
+ Use supervision appropriately; attend supervisory meetings for self.
+ Use "teachable moments" to share knowledge and teach others.
+ Collaborate with others on shared cases. Attend and testify at court hearings, as needed.
+ Work will occur under the direct supervision of an LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
Qualifications
+ A strong drive to make a positive impact in the lives of youth, adults, couples, and families
+ A highly collaborative spirit and the desire to work within a team that will treat you like family
+ A Master's in Social Work or an approved related field (LMFT, LMHC)
+ Must be licensed in the state of Iowa masters level interns (MHC, Social Work) are encouraged to apply!
+ A valid driver's license, good driving record, and auto insurance
+ Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check
