    The Kelly Group is seeking an Industrial Metal Fabricator for its Lafayette, Indiana, facility. Candidates should have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in the layout and fabrication of sheet metal and structural steel.

    This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

    + Safely and accurately lay out and fabricate straight lengths of ductwork, cones, elbows, tapers and miscellaneous parts utilizing a bending roll

    + Safely and accurately lay out and fabricate square and rectangular spouting, square to rounds, tapers, offset fittings and various parts utilizing a press brake

    + Safely and accurately measure and cut various sheet metals utilizing a sheet metal shear

    + Safe operation of an ironworker machine to punch, shear and cut

    + Safe operation of a drill press, punch press, hand grinder and other tools of the trade

    + Reading and understanding of blueprints/drawings, and developing a cut list and/or material list accordingly

    Other preferred qualifications sought include:

    + Experience fabricating structural steel, stairs, platforms and handrail

    + Ability to layout and cut sheet metal on a high-definition plasma table

    + Ability to tack weld and/or final weld all fabrications utilizing SMAW, MIG and GTAW of mild steel and stainless steel

    + Thorough understanding of techniques to set up welding machines and gases

    + Ability to square up and weld various geometries and components

    + Ability to perform vertical and horizontal welding

    + Understanding of various weld form symbols on blueprints

    + Ability to safely rig material and utilize overhead cranes

    + Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word

    + Familiarity with AutoCAD
