    Join our Venice Family Clinic team and use your expertise to make a difference in the community as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1). Under the guidance and supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, the CPT will assist in the day-to-day operations and:

     

    + Perform phlebotomy on patients in an outpatient setting.

    + Calibrate POC instruments such as glucometers, hemoglobin analyzers, Urinalysis, etc.

    + Process hematocrits, Rua's, card pregnancy tests, etc.

    + Maintain logs for tests requested and received-process specimens for other sites.

    + Maintain laboratory supplies at an appropriate level.

    + Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.

    + Travel to other Venice Family Clinic Locations within LA County as needed for coverage.

     

    Salary Range: $25.62 - $31.86

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Phlebotomy certification from the State of California.

    + Demonstrated phlebotomy experience with adults and children in a doctor's office or medical clinic setting.

    + Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients from diverse educational, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

    + Knowledge of infection control procedures, medical terminology, and Clinical Lab test names.

    + Ability to work in a fast paced setting with accurately and attention to details.

    + Skill in using computers and printers.

    + Skill in reading and writing English to understand technical protocols/procedures and to write accurate patient data information.

     

    Preferred: bilingual verbal language skills in Spanish and English, and skill in performing quality control.
