    Are you a licensedSpeech and Language Pathologistready to make a difference in the lives birth to 3 yr-olds and their families as an early interventionist? The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Infant Toddler Program seeks unique individuals who can meld pediatric therapy with key evidence-based practices that impact caregiver know how and development of infants/toddlers who may have developmental delays or disabilities. The geographical assignment isPonderayand surrounding areas. Travel is required to provide in-person evaluations and services in the child’s natural environments – home, childcare, etc. Evaluations and therapeutic services are provided in the child’s natural environments applying coaching interaction methods. Interventionists apply evidence-based practices of caregiver consultation, strategy coaching and education to capitalize on the learning opportunities that present themselves in the family’s daily routines and activities.

     

    This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

     

    The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace.     EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    + Administer diagnostic evaluations to assess, analyze, interpret and document child’s skills and function to determine eligibility for program services, identify child’s developmental status and inform intervention needs and support strategies.

    + Participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goal development, progress reviews and transition planning with team members and family.

    + Design, implement, assess and adjust intervention practices with the child’s family and Infant Toddler Team for effective functional development and progress.

    + Conduct intervention sessions in the child’s natural environment as identified in the IFSP using routine-based interventions with caregiver participation.

    + Model and apply effective evidence-based practices related to the birth to age 3 population, including adult learning methods, and teaming.

    + Serve as primary interventionist representing and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

    + Submit and maintain documentation of each service delivered to the child including consultation or coaching with the participating caregiver according to program established timelines and processes.

    + Schedule intervention and evaluation appointments with families; state vehicles are available for provider transportation to and from sessions according to policy.

    + Participate with and invest in exchanging expertise during regular meetings with team members and with community partners.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.     + Licensure as a speech-language pathologist in accordance with Idaho Code 54-2913.

    + Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
