Duties Description Are you ready to start your Social Work career with New York State? Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (STARC)is recruiting for a SocialWorker to assist Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) andLicensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) in providing professionalsocial work services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As a Social Worker at Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing case management and service coordination under the supervision of an LMSW or LCSW including:• Providing service linkages and access to benefits to meetindividuals personal and social needs• Educating individuals and families about the nature of illnessand disorders• Providing individuals with vocational and educational resources• Interviewing individuals to gather background information

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can beconsidered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency LimitedPlacement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they:• Possess a limited permit to practice social work in New YorkState; or• Eligible to enter the examination for licensure as a LicensedMaster Social Worker (LMSW) in New York StateORCandidates within State Service can be considered transfer to acompetitive class position if they have one year of permanentcompetitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transferunder Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Candidates will immediately advance to Licensed Master SocialWorker, SG-20, when they receive their NYS Licensed Master Social Worker License.
