    Description

    A well-established CPA firm in the East Bay is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant or Tax Manager to join their team. This is a fully onsite role offering long-term growth potential and exposure to a variety of closely held businesses. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in business tax preparation, including Forms 1120, 1120S, and 1065.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for corporations (1120), S-corps (1120S), and partnerships (1065)

    + Conduct tax planning and strategy for closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients

    + Supervise and mentor junior staff during tax engagements

    + Collaborate directly with clients to address inquiries and ensure accurate filings

    + Research complex tax issues and provide solutions and recommendations

    + Assist with IRS and state tax notices or audits as needed

    + Stay current with tax laws and regulatory changes affecting business clients

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + CPA license (active or in progress)

    + 4+ years of public accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized firm

    + Strong business tax experience with forms 1120, 1120S, and 1065

    + Excellent communication skills and client service mindset

    + Ability to thrive in a fully onsite, team-oriented environment

    Preferred Experience:

    + Supervisory or management experience in a CPA firm

    + Familiarity with tax software such as Lacerte, ProSystem fx, or UltraTax
