Description

We are looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team in the legal industry, located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of a variety of federal and state income tax returns, implementing tax-planning strategies, and conducting tax-related research. You will also handle tasks related to trust accounting, estate and gift tax returns, and various bookkeeping and billing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of federal and state income tax returns focusing on Forms 1041, 1065, and 990-PF.

• Implement tax-planning strategies to optimize client's tax position.

• Conduct tax-related research to keep up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations.

• Review and process payments for quarterly estimated taxes.

• Participate in the firm's trust accounting practice when necessary.

• Prepare estate and gift tax returns in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Perform a broad range of bookkeeping and billing activities to ensure accurate financial records.

• Work with various accounting software systems for efficient and accurate tax preparation and bookkeeping.

• Handle increased workloads during busy tax filing seasons, ensuring all deadlines are met.

• Maintain professional knowledge and skills in areas of tax compliance and planning.

Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Familiarity with Drake Tax Software

• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions

• Understanding of Allowances in a legal context

• Excellent Customer Service skills

• Proficiency in Data Entry tasks

• Understanding of Deductible in tax accounting

• Experience with CCH ProSystem fx - Tax Compliance and Tax Planning

• Ability to handle Complex Tax Return

• Knowledge of Corporate Income Tax and Corporate Tax Compliance

• Proficiency in using CorpTax Software

• Experience with Creative Solutions - UltraTax

• Familiarity with Drake Software - Tax Solution

• Understanding of Federal Income Tax and Federal Income Tax Return

• Ability to handle Fiduciary Income Tax Return

• Experience in preparing Income Tax Return

• Ability to handle Individual Tax Return

• Knowledge of Lacerte Tax Software
