Description We are looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team in Oakland, California. Responsibilities:
• Manage litigation cases from inception to resolution, ensuring all legal strategies align with client objectives.
• Represent clients in court, including hearings, depositions, and trials, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.
• Collaborate regularly with team members in the office to develop case strategies and share insights.
• Draft, review, and file legal briefs, motions, and other court documents with precision and attention to detail.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal precedents, statutes, and case law to support litigation efforts.
• Handle claims administration tasks, including reviewing and responding to complaints.
• Provide expert counsel on products liability, toxic tort, and general liability cases.
• Utilize case management and document management software to organize and track case progress efficiently.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the litigation process.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal court regulations and deadlines. Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in defense litigation, with a preference for candidates with products liability or toxic tort experience.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently from initial filing to resolution.
• Admission to practice law in California, with additional admissions in other jurisdictions considered a plus.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and applicable laws.
• Proficiency in legal software such as Adobe Acrobat, case management tools, and document management systems.
• Exceptional skills in drafting legal briefs, motions, and other court documents.
• Prior experience with insurance defense litigation and claims administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.3
