The Manager, Facilities oversees and coordinates the operations of the assigned entity. Supervises the work of facilities staff.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Organizes, plans, directs and coordinates the safe, cost-effective operation of hospital facilities, assuring that goals and objectives are met.

+ Develops procedure and operation manuals.

+ Maintains inspections and proper preventative maintenance programs.

+ Secures accreditation requirements by adhering to all codes and regulations relating to all areas of the Environment of Care.

+ Plans, supervises and coordinates construction and various system modification projects.

+ Communicates and coordinates projects, obtains estimates and negotiates contracts with vendors and contracted services.

+ Manages procurement of supplies through use of the approved budget and ordering procedures.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent climbing, sto o ping, crouc h i ng, kneeli n g, reac h ing and stan d i n g . Must be able to walk up to ½ m ile to job assign m ents and run to resp o nd to e m ergency situations in a ti m ely m anner. Must frequently talk to employees and non-e m p l oyees about work related issues. Occasionally must sit, crawl, push objects of various weight and m aterial, balance body, finger and grasp. Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 100 pounds while weight of item is stationary or m oving. Must be able to hear as it relates alar m s, verbal orders, etc. Must be able to see as it relates to use of equipment, tools, prints and diagra m s. Must be able to s m ell and as it r e lat e s to possible m aintenance proble m s. Must be able to feel as it relates to equip m ent, tools and deter m ining proble m s. Must be able to work alone and/or with others. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to withstand v a ried te m perature changes as it relates to weather and work area conditions. Must be able to hear as it relates to boiler a nd m echanical repairs. Must be able to feel vibrations as it relates to possible m aintenance proble m s.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma / GED required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Three years of experie n ce in a supervisory or business m anage m ent position required. Must be able to com m unicate effectively with people. Certified Professional Engineer preferred.

Hours:

Primarily day shift, but additional shifts as needed.
