The HR Coordinator role is pivotal in supporting the Human Resources Department by assisting the HR Director and HR Generalists. This position provides primary counter assistance to employees and handles various administrative tasks. Key duties include tracking grievances, job bids, layoffs/recalls, and disciplinary actions.
Responsibilities
+ Provide primary counter assistance for hourly employees, including handling inquiries about I.D. photos, address/phone changes, tax forms, benefits, and retirement processing.
+ Offer clerical support to the HR Manager and Generalists by planning and scheduling meetings, tracking salaried overtime, purchasing office supplies, and maintaining personnel files.
+ Monitor disciplinary actions to ensure proper procedures are followed, maintaining logs in SAP, and filing disciplinary forms promptly.
+ Track attendance for hourly employees and collaborate with Timekeeping and supervisors for accurate disciplinary actions.
+ Maintain job bid logs, emergency day logs, grievance files, and bulletin boards.
+ Distribute Union copies of layoffs, terminations, disciplinary actions, seniority lists, and job postings, as well as process personnel movement in SAP.
+ Act as backup to the Personnel Scheduler.
+ Adhere to safety and environmental objectives, reporting incidents, maintaining compliance, and referring to related procedures and programs.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ year of HR experience or 5+ years of strong administrative/secretarial experience
+ High School Diploma
+ Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
+ Experience with employee-facing interactions and inquiries
+ Great communication and written skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ HR experience within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial sectors
+ Knowledge of Attendance, Time & Expense, Safety & Environmental policies
+ Understanding of Labor/Union laws
+ Bilingual in Spanish
+ Experience with SAP and HR systems
+ Payroll, HR policy, union law, benefits administration, onboarding, employee relations, policy compliance
+ Effective data entry and order supply management
+ Proficiency in new hire orientation and employee engagement
Work Environment
The HR Coordinator will work closely with the HR Director and two HR Generalists. The position offers significant growth and learning opportunities, with a strong focus on internal promotions. The work schedule is flexible, with a typical shift starting between 8 AM and 9 AM and ending between 5 PM. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, providing ample opportunities for professional development.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
