Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Lab Technician to join our Quality Team. This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and HACCP standards. The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing analytical and sensory tests, recording and managing data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and HACCP requirements.
+ Successfully complete all required laboratory training.
+ Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately and efficiently.
+ Record, interpret, and enter test results in specified forms and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software.
+ Perform all applicable analytical and sensory tests on in-process and finished products in a timely and precise manner.
+ Identify and report inconsistencies in data to the necessary personnel promptly, including escalation when needed.
+ Receive, handle, and store samples appropriately according to SOP.
+ Maintain all laboratory equipment, troubleshoot problems, take corrective actions, and keep detailed records.
+ Handle, organize, and store all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases as outlined in the Safety Data Sheet.
+ Work independently and in teams across all departments.
+ Complete verifications in testing, standards, equipment, and instruments to ensure accurate performance.
+ Participate in proficiency and collaborative testing.
+ Communicate effectively with other departments through various channels.
+ Show willingness to assume additional and new responsibilities.
+ Perform routine tasks with minimal supervision.
+ Create and maintain a neat, clean, well-organized, and professional-looking work area.
+ Perform all duties in a manner consistent with environmental, health, and safety policies and objectives.
+ Undertake other assigned tasks and responsibilities, including assuming QC Specialist and Manager responsibilities when necessary.
+ Maintain samples of tested products to confirm test results when necessary.
+ Ensure adequate supplies for testing and notify the manager when reordering is needed.
+ Continually compare test results with standards to ensure all products meet specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in quality control and laboratory environments.
+ Knowledge of GMP practices and biology/chemistry principles.
+ Troubleshooting skills for laboratory equipment.
+ Experience with testing validation and lab testing procedures.
+ Competency in standardized techniques and operating procedures.
+ Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in an applied science preferred.
+ Preferred analytical laboratory experience.
+ Ability to work from heights, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift 50lbs repeatedly.
+ Capability to handle dangerous chemicals safely.
+ Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment
Training will be conducted Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, with a likely shift of 11 AM to 7 PM upon completion. The role involves potential second or third shifts and weekend work. Training duration ranges from 4 to 12 weeks, typically 6 to 8 weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
